Meet the Rx2 Principals
Jill Rodby
With over two decades of maritime and logistics marketing and business development expertise, Jill (Simpson) Rodby supplies the type of strategic counsel that enables clients to break through the mixed-media clutter and capture market leadership.
A “daughter of the waterfront,” Jill was among the first wave of women to ever work in steamship industry sales. She’s held positions in ocean shipping, seaports, freight forwarding, air cargo and B2B print and electronic media. Jill most recently was the Vice President of Communication for Commonwealth Business Media and OAG (now UBM Global Trade and UBM Global Aviation); Maritime Marketing Manager at the Port of San Francisco, where she was credited with reviving the ports cargo business during her 14-year tenure; Regional Marketing Manager at Tricom Shipping Agencies; and Regional Sales Manager at Interocean Steamship Corp. Jill is a past President of Women in Transportation (now Women in Logistics), past President of the Pacific Transportation Association, served on the Board of Directors of the World Trade Club and the Pacific Coast Coffee Association. She was instrumental in the fundraising and marketing of the independent film documentary produced by Maria Brooks, “Shipping Out, the Story of America’s Women Seafarers. Jill now serves on the Board of Directors for Big Brothers/Big Sisters of the North Bay.
Jill earned a B.S. in Marketing from San Francisco State University and is completing her M.S. in Integrated Marketing Communications at Golden Gate University.
Curt Rodby
Curt Rodby has more than 25 years of senior-level experience in maritime operations, logistics, marketing and sales. He brings to Rx2 an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the maritime and transportation industries.
Curt started his maritime career with Sealand Service. He later joined Seatrain Lines as Regional Sales Manager. Curt also served as the Marketing Director for the Port of Richmond. His career milestones include positions as Vice President for Transpacific Transportation, Executive Vice President for Nedlloyd Inc., New York and Vice President and Business Manager for Nedlloyd Lines, San Francisco which later became P&O Nedlloyd. Curt has served on the Board of the Pacific Transportation Association, and served on the Waterfront Plan Advisory Committee for the Port of San Francisco.
Curt earned a B.A. from California State University and has completed post-graduate work in Business Management at the University of Wisconsin Management Institute and Harvard University and California State University.
